"Riverdance"
On our first night in Dublin we visited Arlington Inn at Batchelor's Walk close to the River Liffey. A three-man band of sturdy musicians entertained, playing traditional Irish music. Suddenly the stage literally exploded in a striking Irish step dance. Some youngsters showed how advanced and joyous this acrobatic dance is. When the thunderclaps of steel fortified shoes ended, the three-man band resumed their performance and people started to dance in the crowded hall. Ireland is certainly one of the few places in the world where still teenagers and old folks may dance on the same dance floor in mutual, exhilarated and genuine joy.
