The Veil of Banba
 Swedish version Swedish flag
  Amergin
I am the wind upon the sea
I am the flood across the plain
I am the hawk above the cliff
I am the thorn beneath the rose
I am the stag of seven tines
I am the salmon in a pool
I am wisdom; who but I
cools the head aflame with smoke?

I am the hills where poets walk
I am the lure from beyond world's end
I am the spear that rears for blood
I am the tear the sun lets fall
I am the breaker, threatening doom
I am an infant; who but I
peeps from the unknown dolmen arch?

Amergin was the chief bard (poet) and druid of the Milesians, a presumed Celtic tribe. In this compelling song Amergin opened a doorway to the wholeness of creation, as depicted in Morgan Llywelyn's book Bard.
