  The Temple Of Philae
Our journey down the Nile turned into a voyage through time, between temples built during different epochs. It began at the beautiful Philae, close to Aswan, and ended at Karnak, the mighty city of temples in Luxor.
You will find the temple of Philae on the island of Agilkia, where The Pylon of Philaethe temple was moved in the 70's, with support by UNESCO. The regulation of the Nile, caused by the construction of the High Dam at Aswan, put the original island under water. The Greek Ptolemy dynasty started to build the temple 2200 years ago. The Ptolemies were a line of pharaohs descending from officers of Alexander the Great. Philae is consecrated to the Egyptian Goddesses Isis and Hathor and the God Osiris.
