Ramses
II belonged to the 19th dynasty, 
which
was created by army officers. The general Ramses II lived for more than
90 years, and he reigned for 66, between 1290 and 1224 BC. It is told he
had 111 sons and 67 daughters. The world was truly his.When
you look upon the pathetic remainders of his colossal statue at Ramesseum
you realize how inexorable time is to such despotic plans. Gravel and broken
stone blocks are what is left. "The human beings have created God
in their own image," says my brother Lars-Erik. No doubt that's the
case.
