  I Can See Wonderful Things
Like an unbroken threadTutankhamen's Death Mask of Gold and Lapis Azuli throughout millennia the Egyptian culture preserved the belief in the eternal life. "I am yesterday, I know tomorrow" reads a line from the Book of the Dead written on the innermost shrine of Tutankhamen.
In 1922 the archaeologist Howard Carter discovered the tomb he had searched for for several years, the almost untouched grave of Tutankhamen. When he peered into the tomb through a small opening he had his employer Lord Carnarvon standing just behind, breathing hard with excitement. Lord Carnarvon said impatiently: "What do you see? Can you see anything?" And Howard Carter turned his head and answered: "Yes, I can see wonderful things."
