  The Boy King
Since he died at young age the work with his tomb had hardly even started. It is easy to imagine The Tomb of Tutankhamen, Valley of The Kingsin what hurry his grave must be prepared during the 70 days long period of embalming. The wall decorations are only painted because there was no time for the more extensive stone carvings that usually fill the tombs. I suppose they scraped together some treasures that could work as the most necessary things for the eternal journey. Tutankhamen probably only received a fraction of what his more celebrated colleagues brought into the afterlife.
The tomb of Tutankhamen was later on covered by excavation masses from the accomplished tomb of Ramses VI. The boy king may have been looked upon merely as a parenthesis in the chronicles. By the irony of fate these excavation masses saved Tutankhamen's tomb from being discovered by grave robbers. The great Ramses VI:s treasures were stolen and disappeared into oblivion, while the insignificant Tutankhamen would be resurrected with all his possessions for the whole world to admire.
