you ever said: "Once in my life I'll go to Egypt, I want to see Cairo,
I
want to meet the people, I want to see the pyramids and I want to sail the
Nile"? I dreamed for a long time of a journey to Egypt. The Six-Day
War broke out in June 1967. My brother Lars-Erik
served as a UN soldier. He and his comrades had dug in deep in the trenches
of Gaza, between the Egyptian and Israeli armies. I was just a little boy,
following the fights on a map.The war ended and my brother came home. And he brought with him the stories of Egypt. I listened to the stories about Cairo, the people, the pyramids, the Nile, but also about the dead soldiers in the desert sand. His tales were scented by mysteries and adventures. I knew right then I had to see Egypt...
