The Castles of Legends ,
embraced by the shelter of the mists of legends. The
medieval castles of Buffavento, St. Hilarion and Kantara have their origin
in the Byzantine era
of the 10th century. The castles were improved and extended by the Lusignans.
During the period 1200-1500 they had an important significance with their
strategic location and construction as a defence against Arabian attackers. From
their elevated position the defenders could scout the area from coast to
coast. |
