The Information Centre

When the radio was introduced it became common to assemble at the kahvehane to listen to the news. From 1956 and onwards the television at the coffee shop was the village's main source for entertainment and news since most people could not afford an own TV-set. Newspapers have always been delivered to the coffee shop. At the kahvehane social matters were discussed, loan contracts and deals were made. Even marriages could be arranged during talks at the village coffee shop.
