A Quiet Paradise

The main road into Karpaz passes the villages Ziyamet (Greek name: Leonárisso), Yeşilköy (Ayios Andrónikos) and Yenierenköy (Yialousa) to Dipkarpaz (Rizokarpaso). From Dipkarpaz a narrower road goes southeast to the coast and continues through an un-inhabited area. You pass some of the loveliest beaches of the island. North Cyprus has maybe the best beaches of the whole Mediterranean, with golden, soft sand that embeds your feet when you walk along the water's edge. Since the country is under boycott by most western travel agencies there are so few visitors that you may have one of these golden beaches all for yourself.
