St Hilarion provided
the castle its name. Hilarion, famous for his miraculous medicine and exorcism,
lived as a hermit in the Cypriot mountains during the last years of his life,
living on God knows what, and he died about 371 AD. The castle is said to
have inspired Walt Disney's drawers when they made the movie "Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs." I understand them, I can hardly think of a place more suitable
for imagination firing adventures. |
